Photos from a new rat job we looked at today in Letchworth. Our client called to say they found rat droppings in their down stairs toilet room. This activity coincided with renovation works. The toilet had been removed and news paper had been pushed into the pan connector. A rat had chewed through the newspaper gaining access into the toilet room. On carrying out a drain survey, a rat nest was discovered sitting on the inspection chamber ledge. The rat had even stolen a black plastic bag and a tile spacer from the toilet room. The nest was cleared away and the chamber was flushed out. The rat wasn’t present in the waste pipes so we went ahead and installed a 4 inch rat flap. A breeding pair of grey squirrels had utilised a tree very close to the neighbouring property (which is currently vacant) to access the roof line. They had chewed a gap large enough to get into the loft space. From this loft space they crossed over into my clients loft. They were intercepted transitioning through the eaves. Photos from a squirrel call out I had over the weekend in Stevenage. My client was alerted to the problem after seeing a squirrel chewing a hole into her eaves. On going outside, the squirrel sat there with its head sticking out of the hole. When I arrived it had already left the property, providing me with an opportunity to lock it out. The nesting material was removed and the hole was squirrel proofed. The eaves and the loft space were not connected so deploying control measures wasn’t an option due to lack of space. Before and after photos from today’s solar panel pigeon proofing job in Peterborough. On arriving chicken wire from a previous proofing attempt was swinging from the panel frames. A bird had got caught up and died in the front section of mesh and the remaining birds had barged their way through and continued nesting.
We removed the failed installation, fetched out the dead bird and nests and replaced it with our galvanised solar mesh accompanied by our N-X stainless steel mesh clips. The quality difference can be compared to night and day.

The weather allowed us to get going again today with our solar panel pigeon proofing service. This job in Stotfold was postponed from earlier on in the week. Photos showing a rat job which has now concluded just outside Hitchin in Langley (countryside setting). Our client called in stating she could hear noises in her loft space. Our initial survey revealed multiple possible entry points at ground level and one at 1st floor height. All but one of the entry points were repaired leaving one open. A strong musty smell was noted at this point and control measures were deployed directly into that area. The client kept me updated on the activity. Between visit one and two the internal noises completely stopped. On returning all of the culprits had been intercepted on our traps. Photos from a new squirrel job we took on this week in Stevenage. It didn’t take long to identify the pest species in question. Fresh squirrel urine and droppings were found straight away. This property is part of a semi detached setting. There are no signs of squirrel ingress on my clients roof line. We believe the squirrel has created an entry point in the neighbouring roof line. The squirrel is using the open eaves to transition from the neighbouring property’s loft space into my client’s. The neighbouring property is currently vacant so we are working on contacting the management company to see if we can arrange a survey with the intention of repairing the entry point.
