Why control Mice?
Mice have been known to spread some nasty diseases to humans such as Salmonella, Listeria, which can cause food poisoning.
These nibbling nuisances have a compulsive need to gnaw to keep their incisor teeth worn down to a constant length. Electric cables, water and gas pipes, packaging and woodwork, may all be seriously damaged by mice – many instances of electrical fires and floods have been attributed to them.
Mice can ruin an organisation’s reputation. If clients and customers spot evidence of rodent infestation in the premises you manage, they are unlikely to want to do business with you.
Signs of mouse activity
Mice droppings – Droppings are often black, rod-shaped and 3-6mm long. Fresh droppings will be soft and moist. Each mouse can leave approximately 80 droppings per day. Common places to find mouse droppings are under the kitchen sink, around central heating boilers and in roof spaces.
Smear marks – These are dark grey marks left on surfaces by repeated contact with the oils in mouse fur.
Nests – Sometimes nests can be found indoors for example in lofts, under floorboards or in airing cupboards.
Gnawing – Mice gnaw continually on materials such as wood, carpets, paper, pipe cables and furniture. Check for damage to foodstuffs in cupboards.
How to prevent mice
Eliminate any harbourage points such as sealing gaps around pipes and under sheds; Mice only need a gap of 5mm to gain entry, but normally they are 20-30mm in diameter.
Remove potential nesting sites by keeping yards and gardens clean and tidy, by cutting back overgrown areas and clearing any piles of wood/debris.
Cover any household waste where mice can get access to it, close dustbin lids and cover compost heaps.
How to control mice
It is important to get rid of mice quickly, as Mice are adaptable, highly mobile and breed rapidly – this combination can make mouse control a difficult task for the untrained individual. For any mouse infestation, we would always recommend contacting a professional pest control company. We are trained in mouse control and we have access to a range of professional use rodenticides which are not available to the public.
Our approach
With all internal mice infestations, there will be an issue/s with the building’s external fabric. This could be a hole in the external brick work, a gap around a waste pipe, a gnawed hole in a plastic air brick or a gap at the base of an external door.
- Survey – A thorough visual pest inspection is carried out. During this process the pest species in question will be identified along with all the potential rodent ingress points on the property.
- Proofing – Having identified all of the rodent ingress points, our technicians will advise on what to do next. We are able to supply and fit rodent proofing materials. In addition we are able to carry out works to fully seal your property against rodents.
- Elimination/Extraction – Once all of the rodent ingress points have been addressed, various control measures are used to remove the rodent population from your property. We aim to fully remove the rodent population within 3 visits.
- Aftercare – You will receive a 12 week pest free guarantee once we deem that the rodent population has been fully removed from your property.
Important note
We only resolve mice infestations in flats, detached properties or semi detached properties. We do not control mice in terraced settings.

If you ha e solar panels, and have a problem with pigeons, this is the company to use.
The price was great, they arrived on the day and time that was agreed. Cleared all of the pigeons nests, and installed high quality mesh all the way around the panels.
They cleared up all of the mess from the nests so we'll, that you wouldn't have known there was there.
Absolutely perfect service, this really is the best company you could possibly use.

Nick has done a fantastic job putting anti-pigeon wire around our solar panels. This year, for the first time, pigeons had begun nesting under them and the mess was awful.
Our roof was not the easiest to negotiate because of the steep pitch and the nature of the roofing but Nick proved up to the task, conjuring up a clever solution. We were also very impressed that he came back a second time to resolve the issue without the need for scaffolding.
His prices are very competitive so we have no hesitation in giving a five star review.

Nick solved our birds nesting under solar panels problem. With over twenty pigeons under our large array the noise and continual mess became a health issue. Using subtle wire mesh, shaped to fit our roof tiles and brackets around the perimeter the bird proofing is hardly noticeable from the ground and inspite of return visits the pigeons have now moved on.

I had a problem with a bird that had got into my house and luckily it made it's way into a space where I was able to catch and free it. Because I was concerned about future incidents I contacted this company for advice.
Nick was very helpful and called within a couple of days to inspect the property. He found certain spots needed bird-proofing and arranged to do the job within a few days. Nick identified a rat infestation coming through a damaged sewer. He has an amazing video camera on a wire that found the problem, it gets in everywhere that you cant see and would otherwise be guessing. The rat entry point was blocked, He baited and after 3 weekly visits the problem was solved, no more rats. He installed a steel rat flap in the drain so rats cant access from the public sewers.Very thorough and professional service with a one off fee until problem is solved, no extra charges for further visits. I would highly recommend.

I've used Nick on two occasions to clear 2 separate wasp nets from my property. On both occasions he was able to come round either same day or next day and successfully cleared the nests. On the 2nd occasion he even came back round a few days later to inspect the area and cleared the dead nest for us. Really good service and highly recommended.

I contacted Nick about a wasp nest in my garage roof and he came out same day to fix. He also spotted another nest in the roof and was able to deal with that too. A couple of days later I found yet another wasp nest, this time in my main house roof, and again Nick came out on the same day and sorted that. He is knowledgeable, helpful, and charges fairly. Five star job!

Nick to the rescue! After having a panic about a pest infestation in my home, I sent Nick a message and had a response back extremely quickly! He instantly reassured me and spent most of his morning trying to help me resolve the problem. Upon asking for an inspection, he arrived within a few hours.

Nex Pest Control have been superb with an ongoing pigeon problem, nesting under solar panels... attaching barb wire around the edges of the solar panels, helping to attach a falcon to the roof, and now in the process of ridding the pest through culling. What can I say ... AMAZING. Nick came out over the Christmas period to help sort our pest problem. He was very reassuring and sorted it immediately. His prices undercut all others we had contacted. Suspected I had Rats in my loft over Christmas. Called Nick who came around a few hours later. He undertook a thorough search outside and found a hole I never knew existed, which he blocked up. A similar inspection took place in my loft. Rat droppings, rat runs and nesting material were found. Bait was then laid. By the second visit, a week later, all noise had ceased. Dead mother and baby rats were located. More bait was laid but intact on the third visit. Rats had all gone.
Without Nick i'd of had real problems up there with those babies. No way could I have done what he did. He always turned up on time, knew his stuff and kept me informed throughout. He is meticulous to detail and left no stone unturned until he got to the bottom of it. A professional workman with a pleasant manner. Very Reasonable costs. I'd recommend him to anyone.
